Who we are

The Defenders Booster Club is a volunteer‑driven, non‑profit organization dedicated to supporting ALA Vistancia Defenders student‑athletes, coaches, and athletic programs across all sports and all seasons. Everything we do is rooted in ALA’s RAISE values: Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. We work to strengthen school spirit, build community, and ensure every athlete has the resources they need to compete, grow, and thrive on the field, in the classroom, and in life.

We partner with families, local businesses, and community members to provide:

  • Enhanced equipment and training resources

  • Game‑day support and spirit initiatives

  • Funding for tournaments, travel, and special events

  • Volunteer power for athletics and school activities

  • A positive, unified culture that celebrates every Defender

Our mission is simple: to champion our athletes and elevate the Defender experience for the entire ALA community. Whether you’re a parent, alumni, business owner, or fan in the stands, you’re part of the Defender family—and we’re glad you’re here.

Meet the BOARD

  • GARY WOODS

    PRESIDENT

    Hi, I’m Gary Woods, and I’m honored to serve as President of the ALA Defenders Booster Club. Growing up as a student‑athlete, I experienced the difference a strong booster club can make; the confidence it builds, the opportunities it opens, and the sense of belonging it creates. Those experiences have stayed with me.

    Today, as a parent of a freshman who competes in Football and Track & Field, I’m even more passionate about ensuring our athletes feel that same level of pride and support. My goal is to help create a community where every Defender feels uplifted, valued, and backed by people who believe in them.

  • Autumn Pulaski

    VICE-PRESIDENT

    Hi I’m Autumn, and I’m excited to serve as Vice President of the Booster Club. As a mom of ten, I bring years of experience and a strong commitment to our school community. I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of positions within the PTSO over the years at different schools, which has given me a deep appreciation for the impact parent involvement can have on students and programs. With a sophomore currently attending ALA, I’m especially invested in helping create a positive and enriching experience for all students. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, organizing, and taking on projects around the house.

    TREASURER

    Hi, I’m Tracy, and I serve as Treasurer. I previously served in PTA as both President and Treasurer at another school, and I’m excited to be part of the Defenders Booster Club’s inaugural year, with a focus on transparency and thoughtful budgeting. I have a freshman at ALA Vistancia and enjoy thrifting and decorating in my free time.

  • AMANDA WOODS

    SECRETARY

    Hi, I’m Amanda Woods, and I serve as Secretary for the ALA Defenders Booster Club. My career has taken me through the Department of Defense and Mayo Clinic’s Development Office, where I learned the importance of structure, clear communication, and supporting a mission bigger than yourself. Those experiences shaped the way I approach this role; with organization, accountability, and a genuine commitment to serving our school community.

    I’m a proud mom of four, including a freshman who plays Football and Track & Field, a junior at West Foothills, and two adult children. Being part of this Booster Club is especially meaningful to me, and I’m excited to use my experience to help give back to our students and support the incredible things they’re building here.
